RID's Statement

Dear Rotary fellows and friends,

Expanding Rotary’s presence in Africa presents numerous opportunities. Africa boasts an array of beautiful and diverse cultures, traditions, and languages, making it an ideal environment for Rotary’s values of diversity, equity, and inclusion to thrive. This can foster better understanding and collaboration across different communities.

Furthermore, Rotary’s humanitarian projects can help address pressing socio-economic and healthcare challenges such as disease, lack of clean water, and education. By doing so, Rotary can make a significant impact on the lives of the people in these regions.

Another significant opportunity lies in the youth engagement in Africa. With a large young population, initiatives like Rotaract and Interact can cultivate future leaders and volunteers that are passionate about making a difference in their communities.

Finally, Rotary’s focus on peacebuilding and conflict resolution can help build more stable and peaceful communities across the continent, where conflicts and instability have occurred in the past.

This platform is now accessible to Rotarians in Africa and beyond, providing us with a fantastic opportunity to stay connected and well-informed, and collaborate on projects that uplift and empower diverse communities. It serves as a vital tool in expanding Rotary’s reach across the distinct and vibrant continent of Africa.
